Naruto Fan Rants
Where does all the insane negativity come from? That's my question.
I mean, look at this. Look at all of us.
Why do people have so much hate built up over an awesome series about ninja? How can this produce so much badness? You'd think an awesome series about ninja could produce only good things in the end.
I mean, I understand getting pissed off at parts of the fandom, because it's completely insane sometimes, but to let this irritation with the fandom fester into a poison that ruins parts of the series itself?
True...Though Naruto does have it's less-than-shining moments, *CoughTonytheTiger!Mizukifillerarc!Cough* it's still completely and totally awesome. I mean, come on. No anime is perfect, but this is probably as close to perfect as one can ask for. One just needs to stop hating on the series itself and pinpoint the truly gruesome part of it; The fandom itself.
Um... no offense meant here, but what? I wouldn't exactly rank Naruto in the top five anime of all time. Or even fifteen. Close to perfect is pushing it.
But I agree that it is at its best kickass and fun. Also, arguing on the internet is silly.
The larger the fandom, the more wank it spawns. See: Harry Potter after HBP.
...I wonder if that one's up at jurisimprudence yet.
It would be even more awesome if they were pirate ninjas. XD
Ha, true. XD
But, yes...I wish our fandom didn't have so much hate in it....
Two of my friends fight constantly over Oto and Konoha....and though I am an Oto fangirl, I don't mind Konoha either....but, they always place me in the middle. -.-
It just annoys me to no end when they won't shut up about it--and actually get mad at each other.....It's an anime, chibis---it's not supposed to be used as a blunt weapon against your own personal character/reputation. So what if one doesn't like the other village? That's okay! Be happy for diversity!!
Diversity is what makes a series fun...

I found a link to this community on some other Naruto comm. and thought it sounded interesting. Oh it's interesting alright, but in a completely different way than I thought it was going to be. While I admit some of the rants were interesting, and had valid points, most of these posts are, quite simply, rubbish. Not rants at all, but excuses to bitch about or attack things they have no right to bitch about/attack. Pairings are one of my 'favorite' topics. You have the people who 'rant' about how people attack a pairing they like, then turn right around in the next paragraph and attack another pairing. Hypocrisy is not an effective argumentative tool people. To each her or his own.
Then there are people who put down a certain kind of fan. Fangirls seem to be the favored target. What's wrong with being a fangirl? I am a fangirl. And I am proud of it. Does that make me any less of a fan? No it doesn't. I like the fights, I like the character interactions, and the suspense. I just happen to like the perceived shounen-ai aspect more. And shounen series are where the action is now, so get used to it. There's no point in complaining and writing 'fangirl' like it's some kind of infectious disease, or a mental handicap or something.
But the all time lowest post on this board was by teh_monkey or something, where he/she posed the question: "Who would you like to see kicked out of the fandom?"
Firstly, where is the rant aspect of this AT ALL? Secondly, what an intentionally hurtful and despicable thing to do. The sole point of that post was to cause someone's or many someones' feelings to be hurt. It takes a true sadist to do something like that. Or else a mean spirited comment whore; choose the one that best fits.
A rant community? This isn't a rant community, it's a public cesspool of meanness. And I mean that in the politest possible way.
I'm posting annonymously, because I am somewhat of a coward. I'm not ashamed of that, I'd just rather not have my inbox flooded with spam/flame-mail.

The bigger it gets, the bigger target it paints for the fanwit population.
